Here you can see how the behaviour of the system alters according to different application requirements. Note that the rules are evolved for a set of requirements and then tested on a trajectory that has never been shown to network.

The moving dot is the “target” and the background colour of each cell (which is a network node) represents the average duty cycle, with white being 100% on and black on 1/8th of the time.

Things to note

  1. As the speed of the target increases, the average duty cycle has to increase to maintain the required tracking accuracy
  2. As the tracking accuracy increases, more cells typically have to be active to maintain the required tracking accuracy
